Please, do yourself a favor. Somehow, find a way to watch Comedy Central's hit show,
Tosh.0. The show is a hilarious combination of wit, creativity, and sometimes gross humor. The host, Daniel Tosh, in a
Soup-like set up, stands in front of a green screen with a live studio audience watching him. Tosh makes this stage his own, and encompasses the entire studio and those watching it into a care-free world of laughter. He centers the show around viral web videos that surface themselves on Youtube (a video shown on
Tosh.0 is bound to get over a million viewers within a week of it's appearance on the show), which sparked a thought. I realized, right after watching a low-res video of an ape tossing a stick to itself, how amazing the video camera is. As primitive as the gadget seems in our technologically-centered world, looking at it's uses in a different perspective makes it sound like the mystical Pensieve from the
Harry Potter books. Just imagine: an item that has the ability to thrust a person into a specific event, and allow them to recall the event with each detail totally precise, without interfering with the ongoing happenings of that specific occurrence. To me, that sounds like it belongs in the hands of Gandalf rather than the pocketbooks of teenage girls.
Nevertheless, I would like to thank the magnificent Daniel Tosh for not only letting me experience an epiphany, but for eliciting uncontrollable bursts of laughing my ass off.
